Nocode

The Problem

Only 0.3% of the global population know how to code. In Africa there are further challenges of access to the internet and limited access to information and opportunities. With No Code, anyone with a business or idea can take their business online. No Code is fast, saves cost (from hiring developers), and is easy to learn as one does not have to spend years learning how to code.

The No Code platforms have pre-built drag-and-drop elements that have been coded for reuse and scale. This training programme will show the different Nocode platforms available, the different features and costs for each. We will be focusing on using the free/basic tools for this training programme to build a website/app for each selected entrepreneur.

what we are doing

NoCode Apps, Inc and Sote Hub supported UK Kenya Tech Hub are running workshops to equip youth entrepreneurs with digital skills on how to harness the untapped power of No Code and enable them to develop business websites and apps using NoCode.

No Code is a relatively new concept and this a pilot to see it’s potential in Kenya. Using NoCode, entrepreneurs with no technical background will be able to build websites. Note, that when you build on a No Code platform, you are building with code, you simply don’t have to do any coding.

This pilot project has  benefited 100 youth led entrepreneurs in 10 counties of Mombasa, Taita Taveta, Makueni, Nairobi, Nyeri, Turkana, Eldoret, Nakuru, Kisumu and Busia.

All the MSMEs have created their business websites and apps and reporting increased revenue, clients, greater visibility and business.
