Recent Projects

Go Blue Kenya
Funded under the EU Action on Go Blue, the project specializes in blue value chains with high potential impact on job creation, such as aquaculture, tourism (hospitality), boat repair services (e.g. welding, mechanic, etc.), fish handling and processing, maritime security, transport & logistics (e.g., clearance officers).
Achievements / Impacts
- Supporting 200 MSMEs in the blue economy value chains,
- MSME's reach industry specific requirements, inclusive and sustainable blue economy growth.
- At least 10% income increase and new jobs created.
- Reaching out to the six counties of Taita Taveta, Kwale, Mombasa, Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu.





Cashew Nut Project
Funded by the European Union, Slovak Aid and Norad, Sote Hub in partnership with Grow Fairly LTD and Integra Foundation is supporting the revival of Commercial Cashew nut farming in the counties of Kwale, Kilifi and Lamu.
Achievements / Impacts
- Value chain inclusion of youth and younger generation into agriculture.
- Enhancing the processing capacity of Grow Fairly through establishment of a Cashew factory in Kilifi.
- Increasing farmer income and the potential impact on poverty reduction for 15,000 small holder farmers
- Improving market access.








Voices For CLimate Action
This project is incorporating virtual workshops, seminars, coaching, linkages, inspiration, exchange visits and peer-to-peer support groups to 16 MSMEs in the climate smart agriculture & renewable energy in the three counties of Kilifi, Kwale and Taita Taveta.
Achievements / Impacts
- Promoting better business development and management as well incorporating modern tools.
- Creating an online presence for the various products through No-Code website design.
- Incubation and coaching to provide the avenues for funding and development.

NoCode Kenya
NoCode Apps, Inc and Sote Hub supported UK Kenya Tech Hub are running workshops to equip youth entrepreneurs with digital skills on how to harness the untapped power of No Code and enable them to develop business websites and apps using NoCode.
No Code is a relatively new concept and this a pilot to see it’s potential in Kenya. Using NoCode, entrepreneurs with no technical background will be able to build websites. Note, that when you build on a No Code platform, you are building with code, you simply don’t have to do any coding.
Achievements / Impacts
- 100 youthful entrepreneurs successfully created their business websites
- Participation from 10 counties. (Mombasa, Taita Taveta, Makueni, Nairobi, Nyeri, Turkana, Eldoret, Nakuru, Kisumu and Busia).





Impactful solutions
COOPEN
Through COOPEN, we are introducing Hydroponic farming as a small-scale business idea for improving food supply, health conditions, local economy and environmental sustainability altogether for group of 30 women.
The target women groups will grow indigenous varieties of vegetables in the eco-friendly greenhouses, for nutrition, income diversification and development of new skills.
Sote Hub provides support in developing a solid business and action plan for implementing the innovation in Burkina Faso and in establishing the needed networks and linkages to strengthen the innovation replicability and scalability.



Google Online Safety
The main goal of the project is to equip the leaners with the most recent tools and approaches to stay/work online, safely and in long term they becoming trainer of trainers. What’s unique about our model is that the first cohort of 3,500 trained students (35 students per school), will be supported to form Google Digital Clubs and train another 3,500 fellow students within the year.
The training will give the educators the tools and methods necessary to teach digital safety and citizenship fundamentals in the classroom/home.
Achievements / Impacts
- Safe internet use becomes the norm for teens and youth who grow into responsible citizens influencing and impacting positively.
- Reduction in cybercrime including hate crimes, sex trafficking, bullying, extremist groups, financial crimes.
- More students venture into STEM courses and contribute to Kenya’s development goals of more jobs in STEM and technology.
